We cheer for young Indians - Havířov football talents

This year we continued our cooperation with MFK Havířov and contributed to the development and education of the club's football youth.

"We greatly appreciate the long-term support of our club by TSC Group," commented Pavel Malcharek, the club's chairman and A-Team assistant. From the position of a former Czech striker, he appreciated most the use of funds to provide bus transportation to matches, the organization of football camps or training camps and the necessary purchase of sports equipment for young athletes.

Snippets from the club's history

MFK Havířov started writing its new history in February 2006 with the merger of two Havířov clubs FK Havířov FK Slovan Havířov. Due to the longer, more varied and more famous history of FK Baník Havířov, it is considered its successor, known among fans as Baník Havířov or "Indians" Havířov. It plays its matches on the pitches of the Municipal Football Complex in Prostřední-Suchá.

The football section of FK Havířov was founded in 1922 as ČSK Moravská Suchá. Later AFK Suchá, SK Beskyd Havířov, Dukla Baník Havířov, Baník Dukla Suchá, TJ Důl Dukla Suchá, TJ Baník Havířov FK Baník Havířov. The nickname "Indians" was earned by the Baník footballers at a tournament in Karvina in 1931 after the American motorbikes that were successfully sold there before the war.

Baník is historically the best team in the youngest city in the country. During its more than eighty-year tradition it has achieved many successes. Among the greatest can certainly be included several years of the club's performance in the second highest competition, where, especially at the end of the 80s, the men reached for promotion to the top competition.

The participation of Havířov footballers in the Czech Cup was unforgettable. In the 1985/1986 season they lost to Dukla Praha 1:6 in the Czech Cup semi-final in front of an incredible 6,000 spectators. In the 1990/1991 season, Sparta Prague stopped the Indians in the quarterfinals after a 0:2 result. This match was watched by almost 3000 spectators.

After the men's relegation from the second league in the 1996/1997 season, there was a total collapse thanks to the then management, which meant inactivity for six long years. Now the men's team is playing in the division after re-establishing and progressing through the competition and should gradually work its way up to an even higher level, which would certainly suit the town of 80,000. The merger with city rival FK Slovan Havířov should help to achieve this.
